The promised absurdly buff Barafan pic. This was done about a month before the previous post, the first time i'd drawn this character since '74ish. i was "doodling" a lot of my old superhero characters during break times...never actually finished inking this. Was sort of a joke as Barafan was never this over muscled, nor was he as thin as in the previous pic - both sort of ha-ha-s....Anyhoo - tossed some quick colour on it last night and the frame just now. (testing Krita to make sure it's stable, as it had a hiccup last week and i lost my menu bar for a few days....never had any problems with it before).

Way back in 7th and 8th grade (73 -74 ?) i was drawing dozens of comics series (note-book paper and flair pens at first)...one of the earliest was Barafan The Barbarian - derivative of the early "Conan" comics by Barry Smith. Just did about 16 pages of him before moving on to some other thing....

All the panels for the pages were done like this, with the swirly lines going from panel to panel to tie each whole page together....so early art nouveau stuff. This particular pic was likely drawn at break time at Hanna Barbera, possibly later?

Anyhoo...i found Avatar extremely "deja vu all over again"...and still pissed they didn't credit Roger Dean for all the stuff the ripped off from him.
