so you want something a little bit more analog like a ww2 and post ww2 aircraft?

absolutely... they were much more reliable and the pilots knew their aircraft and could troubleshoot them to some degree... now all they know is what the computer tells them...

you know that A10 warthog is a hybrid using both electronics and analog inputs. it's one of the reasons that it's one of my favorite steel angles.

These are really cool airplanes. The Bell X-5 (foreground) was the first aircraft with variable-sweep wings, and the Northrop X-4 Bantam (background) tested whether a tailless design would have better transonic/supersonic aerodynamic properties, but proved too unstable. I had a feeling they were X-Planes, but I did have to swallow my pride and look them up.
