I really needed to get back into story making. I finished this one a while ago but was so busy I never posted it.

Glad you enjoyed it. The advice you gave in notes is definitely noted and I'll probably stick with a style that's more comfortable than the experimenting I've done with this one. Makes writing a lot faster too.

I prefer prose to be written in past tense, although the tense in this piece was consistent, which cannot be guaranteed for most "writers" who write stories in present tense. So... I guess I cannot complain... except for the jarring experience of reading a story in present tense. But, that's a problem of my own. The contents were very good, the characters were interesting and different, and I like how you used anthropomorphism to differentiate the avian from the rest of the characters. I suppose he would also have an accent of his own, as his beak cannot work the same as a muzzle.

Very enjoyable little piece. Good work.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it despite your tense preferences. I'm still pretty sloppy writing in present, wishing I could do it better since I do feel it conveys immediacy, but might just try sticking to past tense since I make fewer mistakes when trying to write in it.
