This may be my masterpiece...
Taylor 'Taye' Dooley is a character from the comic 'Circles' So far he seems to be everyone's favourite character, hardly surprising given his open, outgoing personality and his attractive appearance!
I was asked to do a Taye costume by Mishi, who was particularly taken with the character. I checked with the comic's creators, got the go-ahead, and had him ready for Anthrocon 2002. I used mostly my usual techniques to build everything, but to get the head the correct proportion for his body I made an all-plastic-mesh head instead of using a helmet for a base. The ears are only one layer of fur; they've been soaked (one side) with carpenter's glue and moulded around a length of pipe to give them the right shape and thinness. They're attached to the head with parts from an old pole lamp, which allows them to swivel so Taye can demonstrate various emotions.
