"Petoskey stone is a rock and a fossil, often pebble-shaped, that is composed of a fossilized rugose coral, Hexagonaria percarinata.[1] The stones were formed as a result of glaciation, in which sheets of ice plucked stones from the bedrock, grinding off their rough edges and depositing them in the northwestern (and some in the northeastern) portion of Michigan's lower peninsula". In those same areas of Michigan, complete fossilized coral colony heads can be found in the source rocks for the Petoskey stones." - from Wikipedia
When Mythka did her gemstone dragons, I was absolutely overjoyed when she accepted my commission for a Petoskey stone based dragon design since it it my state stone. I have been born and raised in Michigan and have lived here all my life save for two years spent in Montreal. As such, this dragon is incredibly special to me.
I think all of the noodle dragons that live in my spirit realm are going to get canon anthro forms. If only because they're so fun to design. :)
Petoskey has a Robin as a companion (my state bird) named Svgata Adsila (A loose translation of "Apple Blossom" in Cherokee... which is my state flower).
Tools Used: Photoshop version CS4, Paint Tool Sai
Time Taken: Unrecorded
Soundtrack: "Brazil" - Phillip Glass
