I remember your smile.
I remember your laughter.
I remember your pain.
I remember the day we lost you.
I remember that day in the cemetery. The sky was dark and gloomy, as if it were trying to hold back its own tears.
I remember that all the color and joy faded from my life. I forgot how to be happy.
I remember drifting through each day, like a ghost without a home.
I remember my heart breaking a thousand times.
I remember seeing you everywhere. You were in my dreams, haunting my sleep.
I remember the first time I could see the blue of the ocean again. I was watching the sunlight reflect off the ripples in the water.
I remember how much you loved the water. I could see you there that day. You looked so much younger, the lines and years gone from your face.
I remember now that it is time to say goodbye, to set your soul free. You spirit carried away tonight on soft silk wings of perfect white. Soaring into the sky, free at last. It will not stop until it reaches the brightest star in the sky, because that is what you were to me.
