Eventually he becomes one of Henry's closest friends, although when they meet for the first time he made the mistake of making fun of his height and suggesting he'd be useless in combat, which was solved with a "friendly sparring session" and a couple broken ribs for Jan. Needless to say he learned to not underestimate people by their looks :'D

He comes off as loud and boastful but that's just a cover for a man that doesn't think much of himself and is actually quite shy.
