nope Steve is dead. THo i gonig to get lot of hate mail from people but i knew sooner or later he going to make a earror and mess up. THo i give him a great credit that he died doing what he does best try to teach and educate others.

To make it even more tragic, it appears to have been a freak accident. Had he not been directly above the stingray when it got spooked, he'd still be alive--the barb on its tail went under his ribcage and pierced his heart. Getting whacked by stingrays is not uncommon, but deaths due to them are rare.

The first news I found was on a forum I frequent, and really just thought it was a joke thread, now I'm seeing it everywhere.

..My mom is probably gonna be real sad.

It's a real pitty, but at least he died doing what he loves.

Most people know him as a TV star but he did a whole lot more than just TV, petting zoos, etc.

He was also involved in a lot of wildlife conservation, and environmental projects. In fact I am a little sad to see that it's not mentioned on his Wikipedia page.

I feel especially sorry for his wife and two young kids.

*nods* It's a bad time to say that he molested the stingray. Stingrays are defensive, after all. But yeah. I wrote in my journals with my commiserations.

um...wow I just read it, sory for comming off as a jerk about it, but you sometimes cant tell fact from fiction onthe internet. =l I feel bad for his family, his kids will only know im through pictures and old TV eposodes...that, that is going to be real tough for them... I know its a nono to talk religion on the internet. but, my prayers go out to steve and his family. <=l

He was an aussie legend. I miss him already.
