Yesterday my dear friend
gatorbite gave his super cool closed species flowri to me! ;v; so ive started trying to write about them so i hopefully can make a group for them in the future!!
Im gonna write what my ideas are this far under here so you guys can tell me what you think! c:
Frowri hatch from "eggs" that is actually fruit! (I have not come up with a name for flowri eggs yet unfortunately, you can always tell them from regular fruit though! as the flowri inside alters the look of the fruit, how the eggs are altered if different from every flowri) once in a while plants will grow fruits containing one or sometimes multiple Flowri eggs, flowri that grew on the same plant will feel a relation to eachother after they hatch, sort of like siblings!
And sometimes the eggs grow together to become a slightly fused fruit, those Flowri that hatch from those eggs usually resemble each other and have a strong bond right from when they hatch, those flowri are called twin flowri! (or triplets etc!! it isnt known if theres a limit to how many fruit eggs can grow together, as it is a thing that happens rarely even with only two eggs)
If the eggs are to fall off the host/parent plant, either by weight, weather or something else, before they're ready to hatch, there will be a certain time limit to hold long the egg stays an egg, if the flowri egg is unconnected for too long, the egg will revert to a fruit and start to rot like other dropped fruit does (i think). The flowri eggs can't be connected back to the host/parent plant once disconnected, but other flowri can choose to pick up the egg, should they come across it, and sort of attach it to themselves (usually on their back or tail, but other places like in big "antlers" could be possible too!), in that way adopting it i think? Flowri that has an egg or a baby flowri they are protecting are called "guardians". the flowri will carry the egg until its ready to hatch. and after hatching the new baby flowri, called a sprout, can decide if they want to stay with their guardian, or go off to live on their own.
Eggs growing on a guardian has a small chance of becoming a hybrid flower/plant Flowri when they hatch, as the guardian flowri and the parent/host plant has different energies, if that makes sense! Of course the chance of it being a hybrid is nonexistent if the guardian and host/parent plant were the same, however, flowri who have had the same guardian and host/parent plant might grow unusually colored fruits/seeds/leaves on them.
Sprouts look very fragile and weak when they hatch, but they're surprisingly good at fending for themselves, and can grow quickly.
Sprouts start out with tiny "sprout" growth on their bodies, which as they grow become flowers, or other kind of plants! Sprouts don't necessarily take on the flower/plants that the egg they hatched from's plant is, even though theres a slightly higher chance for it! as the flowri gains a bond the the plants it grew from.
Flowri might be able to decide themselves what plants grow on them but i havent 100% decided on that yet. else it would be decided when their little sprouts go into bloom and reveal which plant they are! Flowri can take all the time they want to go into bloom though as well, i think
Flowri have different growth rates! some stop growing after they reach about the size of 0.4 meters! (1.3 feet i think) those that stay "small" seems to usually have a incredibly good control of the magic within them, where bigger flowri usually have less control (example of not the best magic control: flowers/plants unknowlingly sprout behind them when they walk). the most common Flowri stop growing at about 1.4 meters (4.7 feet) but some flowri never stop growing and extend even that! Maybe their magic becomes more unstable the bigger they get?
Flowri as said have magic within them, to do with nature. as do they have the ability to use their magic to grow plants, certain flowri might even be able to revive dying plants? Flowri have different "elements" depending on which plants they hatched from, where flowri that hatched from water plants would belong to the water element, and certain abilities might follow with those elements.
Flowri are usually fuzzy creatures with scaley back legs, they can grow hair and leaves around their bodies, so sometimes you'll see a flowri with a head full of leaves and other times you'll see flowri with their hair up and such!
Also flowri's colors are usually close to the colors of their plant/flower i think. but can also have natural colors with vibrant flowers/plants! their hair can also be multicolored, but that might be a rare trait (or maybe only with certain combinations of colors? like natural critter fur color mixes of haircolor like, brown and black is alright, but black and lavender would be rare?)
i think thats all i have to write down at the moment! do let me know what you all think! c:
