And yep, they discovered an energy cell of the crashed ship that was constantly emitting heat but no other harmful radiations, they took the opportunity and found a distance for a pipe arrangement that was ideal for shower/pool heating.
There could be more of those left intact from the ship, and they can also be used as source of electricity.

So the energy cell could be some sort of a self-sustaining Hydrogen (or Deuterium) fusion reactor cell which is emiting heat due to a broken insulation and because of the high temperatures and pressure needed to perform a fusion reaction.

The energy cell emits quite a bit of heat by default as a byproduct of it's internal reactions, but it is normally enclosed in a metal casing (with ventilation of course), this cell with an open casing is an easy, reliable way of utilising the device as a heat source.
Someone skilled enough can create a converter for the power port which can supply significant amounts of energy for an entire settlement for a very long time (maybe the human in the picture is one of such technicians).
