After many tries and retries I think I finally settled on their design. This is the Kin, a benevolent canine alien race that exists in my universe. The Kin are ancient. Their civilization stretches back millions of years. They were colonizing space back when we were still dragging our knuckles across the ground and clubbing each other over the head with petrified tree branches. Much of their technology is psy based, revolving around special crystals that grow only in their home star system and are powered by zero point energy. However today their power is much less. Their once mighty galaxy wide empire is now but a small patch of space that doesn't reach much farther than their home system and a few others. Their people live in a constant state of shame and guilt for the destruction the wrought during their thousand year war with their sworn foe, the malicious Archaniem. And although they did win the war and liberated the galaxy of their tyranny, much of it was left in ruin. They offer their knowledge and wisdom to the younger Hollocahn civilization in hopes they will not repeat the same mistakes they once made.
