Corebook artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
A poster-sized illustration/chapter splash page for twisted environments, landscapes that have been warped by an excess of powerful magic in the area. The art director suggested a party of adventurers braving a surreal forest featuring a floating lake, and somehow this came out, haha :b The displayed image is only 10% of the actual size - working on this gave my laptop something of an aneurysm >_O

Stunning concept art, very Roger Dean-esque.
To me, those rope bridges would be the ultimate test of bravery -- (a test I'd fail, BTW :) -- but to the intrepid adventurers depicted here...I suspect they're only the beginning. :)
P.S. What kind of creatures could live in such a lake? Flying fish? :)

Hey, thank you so much, very appreciated! *chuckles* Yeah, they're probably not the sturdiest, but I've crossed the Capilano suspension bridge no problem ( http://81dix1oo56s3h5et73pjxme1.wpe.....ilano_gal1.jpg ) so maybe it wouldn't be so different? :V (Nah, crossing a wobbly bridge not intended for wimpy tourists is much scarier XD)
Hmm, not entirely sure, but I could see everything "touched" by magic in one way or another - so yeah, maybe flying fish, or strange magical/exotic creatures, or maybe horrible mutated things :b

It's a role-playing game: "horrible mutated things" are almost mandatory. :)
That Capilano suspension bridge looks pretty intimidating to me, even though it's made of wire cables and modern materials...and is anchored to something a little more stable than a magically-floating rock. ;)
