When I sold a pair of my feather earrings to a lovely person at the ren faire, I brought them in a jar so they wouldn't break. Since I carved them nearly paper thin, they need some kind of travel protection. She said the jar was a perfect way to display the finished product, and I have to say she was very correct. There are eye screws in the cork that the earrings hang on, making them beautiful as a display piece and still able to uncork and use as earrings. I feel like a professional with these.
