We finally got a guinea pig, and have another we would like to get in a couple days c:
We haven't named him yet, though I'm leaning towards Ditto personally. My boyfriend and I will continue to try and think of something we both agree on as we learn about him.
We got him through Petco's adoption program. He's been raised alone because he was really sick and had a tumor on his throat. When they took him into the vet, the tumor had apparently disappeared. However, by the time all the illness stuff was said and done, he had aged a bit past his "prime" selling age.
He were looking at another that was like, exactly what we wanted. She was one of the longhair, white, brown, and orange with blue eyes and well, female. But despite me not being a fan of albino rodents, he felt right the instant I held him.
He's super affectionate though, we've brought him back and he loves being held and makes the most adorable purring sound when you scratch his sides.
Also the hay and guinea pig food smells really nice >w> I'm weird

Yes! Albinos are absolutely precious, though they're known to have health problems. However, with a bit of TLC, their health will be just as normal as any piggie. c:
He reminds me of my albino piggie, Blizzard. Towards the start of my high school experience, my parents wanted to get a second guinea pig to keep our current one company (since guinea pigs are prone to depression via loneliness). We went to the pet store, and there was an albino there that I instantly wanted. My parents, however, picked out a white-and-brown mottled piggie and named her Cupcake. I loved her, too, but three and a half weeks later she died of a surprise respiratory problem. So we went back to the pet store, and, lo and behold, the albino piggie was still there. So we got her, named her Blizzard. Sadly, she was fidgety as well, due to being handled so much, but she grew on me to the point that I was the only one in my family that could pick her up without her running away. If that doesn't explain fate, I don't know what does. x3
Albinos will love you unconditionally if you do the same to them. I'm so glad you found the perfect piggie and gave him the forever home he deserves

I didn't consider getting an albino one because I personally don't care for them aesthetically, but he felt completely right when I held him. He's scared and skittish right now due to rehoming I'm guessing, but he's alright with us holding him and just holds still and purrs. I didn't know what the purring people were talking about was and like OMG ITS SO CUTE
OMG you got one, yay! You're going to have so much fun with him. Is that a little fur dimple on the top of his head?
A fun thing to try is to let them lick your fingers. I think they do it for the salt from your sweat, but whatever the reason it's very cute. <3

Yehp its a fur dimple :3 He's cute a cute little crest that sticks down enough to make his eyes look sleepy lol
And yeah he licks my fingers if I touch his nose. He's super easy to handle and surprisingly well socialize, I think he'll make a great first guinea pig for us to get used to and learn about them a bit.
