Wherein instant romantic subplot, wee!
For those who are just tuning in, this is a story I wrote when ten years old. As a result, the writing is... bad. Hilariously bad. Let's read!

Hot rod XIV
unexpected surprise As opposed to all those expected surprises in life.
Guess who!
(I can’t guess why!)
I left the festival (or what was the festival) and went to my home. I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I saw a fox with a flower. I thought: gotta be a coincidence, gotta be a coincidence… Sure enough it wasn’t. The fox was in love with me. Because reasons! Also, I don’t think this is ever brought up again after this part, by the way. I didn’t wanna flirt. I also didn’t want to break her heart. Suddenly, Byrd came to me, saw the girl, and said “I’d take her if I were you.” Whose side was she on? The fox came over to me and gave me the flower. I had one question. What now? All I could say was “Thank you.” I think it understood me too. It was a long, creepy time that we spent just looking into each other’s eyes. Julie would’ve been so jealous. Julie Anderstreet was my girlfriend until she found someone else (Andy Harboard) and dumped me. Andy dumped her. She’d never admit it but it’s true. This seems like the sort of thing that would be a red flag for a part of the story where I am writing an autobiography and giving myself a victory and the one who snubbed me a defeat, but really… no, these people mentioned do not exist, by these names or otherwise. I could tell just from that long stare that she is troubled by something. I wondered what, though.
I had no clue who she was. She had no clue who I was (other than a cute male out-of-the-ordinary fox). It was weird. It finally came to me. I said “you’re in the same situation as me aren’t you.” Uh, how did he know that? Did he look at the script? For that matter, if he’s reasonably certain that she does not know who he is (which would make her the only living being, flora included, that does not know who Hot rod is in this universe), why is he asking that? She nodded her head yes. “Do you want to come with me?” Another yes. We went to my mansion and it was a bit calm there.
