Yep! It's a bit of a process, but I'll try to file it down below:
1) Used the polygon tool to create a pattern grid (made large so that it won't be impossible to see when sized down).
2) made duplicates of the pattern grid on a different layer to have a base to go back to.
3) resized the duplicate grid to the area I want to apply texture to.
4) used the warp tool to have the grid "follow" the curves or angles of the car.
5) cut out the excess of the grid along the edges of the car or where the grid meets the lineart with the selection tool.
6) repeat 2-5 on different layers until the texture is all around the car.
