One of Avina's favorite characters she's read about has a blue headband, so as soon as she found that blue strip of fabric, she knew she had to try wearing it. She spent the rest of the day pretending to be Blue Quill, the brave warrior. When Firefly declared they were Iron Maw, the southern raider, Avina knew she had to take her down and bring her to justice! Alma failed to appreciate her efforts.

It's time to accessorize! I spent days trying to figure out what Avina's first accessory would be, then I realized how neat a hair tuft would look when paired with a headband. Unfortunately this just cements the fact that I had Avina's personality all wrong when I first made her, so I'm going to have to go back and change that soon.

Had a lot of fun trying to figure out the perspective on this one. In the past I haven't drawn backgrounds around my drawings because I only wanted to draw the character, but I've been having lots of fun thinking up situations for Avina to end up in. Backgrounds are something I never thought I could enjoy like this. I did mess with the sizes of the characters a little bit, so don't use this as a perfect sense of scale. I just thought it looked a little better like this.
