As a direct result of cabin fever, Janice needed to blow off some steam after 2 very long weeks of business meetings and mandatory this and that’s at the Caribbean. You might be asking yourself, “She’s in the Caribbean! Being sent there should be a cure for cabin fever, right?” well… yes… but it hasn’t stopped raining since she arrived there! The main reason she was excited to go was her fantasy of swimming with the fish in the clear blue water without a care in the world. But despite the bad news, there was a soothing light at the end of her tunnel; the weather called for sunny skies the day before she had to leave for the U.S. this was the chance she had been hoping for her entire trip! Her mind was made up, and despite the intimidating warnings of the local natives, she blindly set out to a deserted beach with her swimming suit and cap. When she arrived, She began to vividly remember the warnings that the natives gave her before she went. She couldn’t understand what they were saying but she knew that she shouldn’t go. But at the height of boredom and desperation, nothing could stop her. After a half hour or so of swimming, she decided to head towards shore. The closer she got, the more she noticed that she was in trouble. No matter how hard or how fast she peddled, she couldn’t move in the water. And she began to sink. A few minutes later, her entire body became completely submerged, but she didn’t feel like she was suffocating. She continued to sink, and as she sunk, she felt like her body was engulfed in flames, convulsing and writhing in pain. And with every thrash and scream, she could feel her humanity slip away…
