Sometimes parenthood can be scary, especially to new parents, Ruby and Hugo where one of them as she was soon going to be a mother herself. The heavyset wolfdog soon realized she needed guidance and she knew no one better than her mother's elderly tokota Himalia. the tundra tokota has had puppies in the past and was very calm and caring towards her Handlers family, including mothers and puppies. Ruby woke early this morning, feeling slightly ill, but she had her plans stuck in her mind so she’d have to look past the sour feeling. She just hoped Himalia wouldn’t mind helping her.
“Hey hima girl… mind if I visit you?” Ruby tilted her head, the elderly tokota slowly stood up and nudged her handler’s daughter carefully and barked. Waving her tail as if asking her to follow. “well ok, I guess I take that as a yes… just let me go tell my mom” Himalia snorted a bit but nudged ruby into the direction of the house.
Walking inside she approached her mother's room and carefully opened the door, approaching sapphire’s sleeping form. “Mom…?” the heavyset wolfdog nudged her mother.
“What is it hun, are you okay?” Sapphire yawned and looked at her pregnant daughter, a worried look in her eyes.
“I'm feeling ok mom” Ruby reassured with a soft smile “I was just wondering if I could take Himalia out”
“ok ruby… just be careful, it might rain” Sapphire cautioned and hugged her daughter.
Once the heavyset wolfdog walked back outside she began following Himalia, unsure where she was leading her. It had been a few hours of walking when Ruby whined, the elderly tokota turning her head to make sure she was okay.
“I’m okay girl… can we stop for a bit though, I’m getting really tired” Himalia shook her head and lowered herself, allowing Ruby to climb onto her. “So Himalia where are we going?” The elderly tokota yipped happily and started walking again, It wasn’t long when she reached a clearing, looking out at some of the Ila pack members, some of which have had puppies. The elderly tokota slowly approached one of the mothers, who narrowed her eyes at ruby, Himalia yipped reassuringly, as if telling her that the anthro was friendly.
The female calmed down slightly and bowed her head in respect to the elder tokota and her handler before allowing Ruby to approach. She slowly climbed off of Himalia and crouched down beside one of the puppies “Himalia why did you take me here? I don’t think they want us here” The heavyset wolfdog looked up at the mother of the puppies, who cautiously kept an eye on her, but didn’t flinch when she stroked one of them. The puppy squeaked in surprise at the sudden unfamiliar touch to which ruby tried to quiet the pup, looking up to Himalia for guidance.
The elderly female picked the puppy up and placed it in her handler's lap, who grunted a bit at the weight, the mother narrowed her eyes at himalia and moved her puppy back closer to her. “Ok Himalia, let's leave before they get angry…” she stood up slowly and followed her tokota home.
Ruby wanted a lesson from the elderly female, and she had received more than she asked for. She had learned that Himalia was close to some of the members in the pack and would proceed to bring the new mother to interact with the puppies
