So, I had the opportunity to visit Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i, at the end of June. Naturally, I decided to go (my friend had an extra ticket and was hoping I'd come along), and I'm so glad that I did. There's a lot that happened there, but in the span of the single week that we were there, we visited Papakolea Beach (the one with the green sands), flew over Mauna Kea in a helicopter, saw a Lu'au, saw turtles coming to rest and ancient petroglyphs at Kaloko-Honokohau Natural Historic Park, and we got to film most of the experience. Yeah, quite a bit can happen over the span of just one week.

Anyway, this is a drawing I made during the flight to Kailua-Kona. The flight itself was just over 6 hours (Hawai'i is a bit further out than you might think), but it was worth it to see all the things we got to see. I'm so grateful that I got to go on that trip, and I look forward to being able to do it again.

I wrote "Mahalo" ("Thank you") because "Aloha" seems a bit cliche for a Hawaiian theme. Then again, I just gotta be me.

Fun Fact: I'm the first and (at the moment) only person in my entire family to vacation in Hawai'i, yet I'm the second person to visit it.
