This pair is one that I've been rolling around for a while, so it made sense to get something done of them. Especially the Roserade.
So, herein is a travelling pair of Pokemon that aren't quite a couple but more partners. One tolerates the other, and the other is rather curious about the other. Speaking about the Roserade for the former and the Mismagius for the latter.
Danton, the Roserade, is the victim of a long ago injury that he has never healed from. During his younger years as a Roserade, he at one point encountered a rampaging Charizard whom was terrorizing some local woodlands. Stepping it, he threw himself in front of the Zard's flames to protect a group of smaller Pokemon from it's wrath, sacrificing himself in the process. Although the Zard was eventually quelled, Danton almost died from the encounter, if not for the gratitude and help of the residents he had saved. While he eventually recovered enough to walk, his back never fully healed from the burns, and he lives in constant pain from them, something that he has learned to live and deal with.
Alura is a wandering creature whom has existed for centuries. She's older than some of her kind that she's known, but has never been able to shake a nagging sense of wanderlust in herself. She's lived off that urge for half a century now, and only recently has she come into contact with Danton. Naturally much darker-colored than most of her kind, she sees the coloration of herself more as proper aging than anything else. The exact reason why she's darker than normal in color is unknown, but it can shift between dark purple and black at times. Her wanderlust extends to her curiosity, and encountering Danton lead her to wonder about him and his story. For a long time, Danton shrugged her off, continuing to wander, but with her tailing behind him. While he eventually succumbed and told her what happened, it didn't cause her to leave. In fact, she stayed with him, much to his discomfort.
The two wander the world together, reluctant partners whom don't seem to have much in common, and yet there is potent company to be had with them.
