So as a way to inspire myself to start drawing more, I'm going to finally use this account for something productive and upload a handful of older sketches I have laying around from the past 3 or 4 years to get a bit of a gallery going. I have a really bad habit of drawing for a week or two, and then putting down the pencils for a very long time before ever picking it up again. Maybe I can finally fix that. Despite being older work, constructive criticism won't be brushed off, although I'm very aware of a lot of the flaws in my art, lol.

In early 2015, I decided to make a series of drawings based on my main circle of friends in the style of a graphic novel series I was starting to get obsessed with, Mouse Guard ( http://www.mouseguard.net/ ). After asking each of them what their weapons of choice were, I went to work designing them all in the style of David Petersen's work, using the graphic novels as reference. I made it a point to challenge myself with poses - without directly tracing a pose from the novels - as a way to break myself out of my "head-on pose" phase.
---
I'll start by uploading one of the ones I'm a bit more proud of, despite some awkward quirks (namely their legs and the arm and ear near the right border). Both of my female friends chose the same weapon, so I decided to lump them into one picture with eachother; which works well, considering they're friends from early childhood.
