Ty Sickle for the title :v
I often get asked about various elements to Wyla's design and, to be honest, she's been through a lot of changes! So here is her story. ;)
• 2003: Plain old black wolf with a white streak over one eye. Grey-blue eyes. When I was a kid me and a friend played wolfpack and her name was ~white lightning~ but I realised that was a) dumb and b) questionable substances so I shortened it to Wyla. Now you know!
• 2004: Caracal! This honestly didn't stay long haha. Here Wyla got some small changes with extra white, a back mane and leg-fluff.
• 2005: Back to wolf. One black and one white eye.
• 2005 - 2006: Here she changed species to a hyena-wolf mix to account for her 'mane.'
• 2006: She changed colour scheme completely, stayed a hyena-wolf mix.
• 2007: This isn't technically Wyla! For a while here I had a dhole character, Mex. The second piece is by rikkitz and I still have the original, it is gorgeous ♥
• 2008: I missed the black wolf so she came back... kind of. Here she went into her own character; 'Sixteen', a silver vixen with a bit of a bloodlust streak. This image is by ninjaweasel
• 2009: Sixteen's design changed a little, adding some red and doing away with the odd eyes.

• 2010: Wyla herself was a natural-coloured European wolf for a while. Second image is a commission from the wonderful Kesame/Coyote-mange ♥
• 2011: Merged Sixteen's design and the black wolf came back as a secondary character, 'Mosi.' Named after a black wolf I got to meet in 2008 at uk wct. Second and third images are again commissions from Kesame. The second remains one of my favourite feral Wyla images. Her white eye streak marking changed into vertical scars and I added a couple more to mirror my own. The torn ear first appears here simply to tie in the scars and general scruffy appearance. 2011 was a kind of shitty time so Wy's general appearance was scruffy and downtrodden lol.
• 2011 into 2012: Mosi became Wyla and I was once again a black wolf. \o/ She had an alternate summer coat which admittedly never got much use.
• 2014: Made her colours a little richer and changed her chest fur to a heart shape.
• 2014: Feral-Wyla. Her markings in feral form are a little different to her anthro form.
• 2015: New hair and new face markings, slightly changed colours.
• 2016: waff.

It's like you kept trying to introduce lighter colours but got bored and went back to dark, but eventually settled on a dark brown~

Quite the story, great to get a little insight into the history, even if I haven't been following long enough to recognize much of it. I absolutely love Wyla, badass and beautiful motorcycle-riding canine she is. And no doubt lots more of her to come in future, and with all the more stories to tell.
