Everyone is entitled to at least one mistake. Most Pokemon don't have gender identifiers anywhere above their crotch, so most mons -- especially those of a minority gender for their species -- will look the other way the first time. Heck, some mons even like when you get their gender wrong the first time because it means you weren't looking at their chest or crotch (or having any of the impure thoughts that typically accompany such). . .
But only the first time. Once they tell you your gender once, don't ever get it wrong again.
Get it wrong before they tell you: You weren't peeking.
Get it wrong after they tell you: You weren't listening.
And FYI, we can totally tell if you're into this sort of thing. So getting her gender wrong will NOT help you if you want this to happen.

Calm down dude.
Generally speaking, he is correct, the gender is whatever the genetics say it is, and most of the time the groin says what the genetics say, however, humans (speaking real world terms here) have this thing where they don't always follow that general rule, and choose to be a gender other than what their genetics say. (or some sort of abnormallity causes it to not follow the genetics)
If you say you're a male, fine, female? fine, other, fine, we can accept you as what you say you are.
but when put in context of this scenario, a pokemon, a feral, something that doesn't follow the gender preferences the same as a human... then pretty much, they are whatever gender their groin tells you they are.
And if you disagree with what I said, well, this is just my opinion.
