to those who have not read about Zero's Origin. he were born without a soul therefore born dead because his kitsune spirit (passed down by his father) wasn't compatible with his tiny eevee body. So his father took his body to the Legendary phoenix Moltres to get help in giving Zero life.

The Phoenix Moltres gifted the body with some of her phoenix flame to give Zero Life. As a result the spirit was now compatible with the body and Zero was born. But the Kitsune spirit as a result was fused with the phoenix flame, Resulting in him being the first existing "Phoenix Kitsune". This new form is what Zero turns into when they choose to use "Kitsune Form" his Female form Blossom however would turn into a ninetails Feral/Anthro (possible future commission)
