I'm just tending to throw points to whatever stat feels appropriate at the time, did notice though many other players have more health than me but, yeah I don't mind. Basically going by the feeling, whatever feels best at the moment XD. And I have bad experience of pure spellcaster invaders since first game, basically 1-2 spells and I bite the dust hah!
Ideally you'll want to specialize in something, since if you want to stay at the 120SL meta cap then you'll have to pick something and go with it. It'll also help with keeping your damage viably high in the last portion of the game.
Oh yea, spells are certainly strong, they just have terrible tracking, unless its the Black Snake pyromancy, which has fucking ridiculous tracking. xD

my guess for the armor is fallen knight set. Going off of the gold embroided plates of the shoulders and hips, i should know because thats the set i wore through my entire first playthrough after finding it XD
Plus that armor had some pretty high fire resistance, which would just fit a fire wizard lizard like yourself ^.=.^

I ran with the zweihander on a quality build through the while game. Did a respec and tried to make a sorcerer/pyromancer with the immolation tinder as a staff (the weapon art is sweet) but got hit by a wall when I went against deacons of the deep, they have magic resistance for days XD
Don't have the game anymore though anyways. My little bro broke the movement joystick and I think I did everything in my first playthrough I just could not play again. At least dark souls 2 added some stuff on ng+ but whatever =P
