Anyways, this is not only a cover of the original tune. It starts off like the original but get's unique from the middle till the endpart, where the original kicks in again.
Big thanks to my buddy MaestroRage from Newgrounds.com for doing some orchestral shouts for me.
Anyways, enough of that, just listen and enjoy some metally Mega Man Metal! \m/
Thanks for stopping by!

I'm not a fan of "metal," or the dumping of a bucket filled with SFX samples as a surrogate for a drum solo.

I sense no technical flaws, the original material is brief but blends flawlessly, and I am curious how you will progress in this hobby.

The sfx "dumping" as you called it wasn't a surrogate for a drum solo. Not at all. It was an idea I had - I wanted to create a feeling of actually playing the stage with this remix. Should be a little "in-game-take" if you know what I mean.
I don't normally use sfx that much in my songs or remixes. Infact, not at all.
Well, new stuff is in the works and I will upload more of my works as well here of course. Checked out teckworks. Sadly it seems to me that he is very midi based and doesn't really "remix" the tracks for real. Just replacing synths and playing a bit with the pitch etc. isn't really a remix.
But it's not bad what he does with it.
Anyways, thanks for checking this out.

While I can't speak of the technical aspect as I'm not a musician, I can say that I enjoyed listening to this. It was very nostalgic. And I, for one, liked the sfx in the middle. As soon as I heard it, I couldn't help but grin. Made me want to break out my old SNES and put on some of the -old- X games.
Well that's not a big deal at all. I'm no drawing artist but I still enjoy the pictures...well, I have to get used to the amount of pron pictures around here but w/e. Overall, we create art and I think that is what matters. ;)
Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride and nice as well that you liked the sfx part. It should give the exact feeling you descripted! :)
Incase you want to download it, there is a link in the description. Thanks for checking! :)

Why thank you very much for the nice comment. I agree that there should be more Megaman metal remixes/covers in general. I'm really one of a few individual METAL artists who not only remix/cover just one of the songs.
Also...who did say I don't have more in stock? ;)
Anyways, glad you liked it! Thanks also for the fav.!

Glad you liked it! I used my line 6 podxt with a custom tone for this one. Got a podx3 as well which I will most likely use to record my newer stuff. Of course the pure signal from the pod/s aren't enough. There is also compression on the guitar layers and they are equalized a little as well.
I'm still searching for a sound I "really" like.

This is a vastly underappreciated song, and you rocked it. The addition of the SFX, as everyone has corroborated, was an excellent choice, and works out very well into the overall execution and immersion. If there was ever an X4 remix of this game, I'd want this track for this stage. The rhythm guitar is nice and chunky, the leads are piercing, and the snare... well, it sounds a little tinny, but considering what sounds take up the middle, I could see why you did it that way.
Man, this takes me back to when I transcribed the guitar tablature for this song. Hahah.
