I know what it is you're remembering, but I don't remember all of it. (If that makes any sense).
It was an episode of Next Gen, and all I remember is there were, I believe, 3 members of the bridge crew in Engineering. There was some sort of Time Stop effect going, and one of the things they had noticed was a Warp Core Breech, that had vented a (frozen, along with the rest of time) cloud of some sort into Engineering (I believe that bulkhead doors were in the process of sealing as well). Two of them went off to examine something else, and when they checked on the third, he had drawn a smiley face into the cloud and was laughing like a drunkard at it.

I listened to some of his other stuff and didn't care for it. I also have a strict "no radio" rule, because once a song is overplayed on the radio, I tend to hate it forever. The only stations I listen to are the local college stations. I also found the song in a non-radio way... if it had been otherwise, I know I would have hated it. <=)
I am really weird about music. The more obscure, the better.

Haha, my last car was a truck with a messed-up tape deck, so I started living on the radio. I hadn't listened to the radio in years, and I discovered the local hip-hop station and the local pop station.
My favorite artists are Bomb the Music Industry!, Tom Waits, the Magnetic Fields, the Aquabats, etc., so I hear ya on obscurity. But every now and then, pop just hits the spot.
Jason Mraz I had always categorized with guys like Jack Johnson - insufferable bra frat rock, to be cruel. So I was surprised to hear a nice, breezy rocksteady vibe.
