I wanted to try SAI more for inking, and originally I wanted to color this but the final lineart result looked off or lazy, so I might as well stop and post before I do more on it X3

Simple. Chip figured that Sonic's feet would use some pampering after he did so much punching and climbing for him. After all, he's the Earth (or Mobius) spirit, which means he could probably have something for feet considering everything on the planet steps on him. He's also the only official Sonic character, who's always barefooted, which further suggests my statement.
