The best surprise of BronyCon 2016 was discovering how the voice of Daring Do / A. K. Yearling was also the voice of Hamtaro from Hamtaro!
Coming off of a massive burst of creative inspiration from both Pocket Dragon Adventures and Dragon Tales, I was elated to learn of Hamtaro coming to Cartoon Networks "Toonami" in the Fall of 2002. I was so excited for it that I pre-ordered The Official Hamtaro Handbook and had purchased a pack of VHS tapes to record episodes. After all, if Pocket Dragon Adventures and Dragon Tales had gotten me this far, I knew Hamtaro could only help me go further towards my goal of becoming a children's book author.
Although Hamtaro didn't last long on Cartoon Network it did plant a very important sunflower seed that came into bloom in the Fall of 2008. It was then that I met one of my best friends,
nishi.
Nishi and I were mutual fans of the character, Oxnard, from Hamtaro. When I saw his avatar as being Oxnard, I knew I had to get to know him. Our first discussions, besides being about Hamtaro, started during his epic Circles saga. We talked a lot about how we respectfully interpreted the Circles comic. We then continued to talk on a number of other things up until Nishi was kind enough to allow me to have creative freedom with some of his characters to start my epic Further Realms series.
Over the past eight years, Nishi and I have shared many life adventures. We've also teamed up to self-publish a number of books while being there for each other during the sunniest of days and rainiest of nights. I honestly wouldn't want to ever know what my life would be without Nishi being a part of it to push me to my limits as a writer while helping me to become as accepting, understanding, empowering, and community driven as I am today.
It goes without saying how we were both super excited to know Chiara Zanni, voice of Hamtaro, was going to be at BronyCon this year. Nishi drew this picture and I had two copies signed. One for me and one for him. The coolest part is how Ms. Zanni not only remembered her "Ham Chat" without me using it, but also did her Hamtaro voice during the Friday VA panel! Good times!

Ooh, I thought the panel video you were looking for was based on your panel! But maybe it was hers? Now I wanna watch two Brony Con panels! ;3 That's so neat! :D Hamtaro was a great thing and brought together tons of people, I'm glad it made for lots of happy friendships. :3 And I'm so happy we both got a copy! I didn't wanna have the only one - these feel like lil friendship necklaces or something - the art and pictures are the same, but her signature's a lil uniquely different for us both. :3 How cool! Thanks again Yosh! :3
Yep, yep! When I find the video for the Friday VA panel, I'm going to see if I can get some help to get an approximate, time stamp for when Chiara Zanni goes full force into her Hamtaro voice. It's so awesome!
I honestly believe she was happy that people talked to her about other works she has done. She's only done "Daring Do" twice up to this point. There may be a forthcoming episode in Season 6 where she'll come back as "Daring Do", but that's nothing compared to her being on the old, Saturday Morning Cartoon, Camp Candy from back in the early 90s along with the over 100 episodes she voiced for Hamtaro.
They mentioned she also does live action with one of the shows being one of my mom's faves, Supernatural. I managed to let her know my mother really loved the show until it ended this year. I think it made her happy, too. :)
*Snugs* I'm just about done getting everything together to send you your autograph. Trying to make it have a little more to it. After all, you are a birthday Ham-Ham two days before my Tina Bear. :)

Hamha to you as well. It's always nice to Ham-Chat with a fellow Ham-Ham. Makes for fun Ticki-Ticki and Badda-Badda times.
For the longest time, before I switched to saying, "Gabby-Gabby-Gaboo!" as my catch phrase, I would always throw in an "Oopa!" for good fun.
Per chance do you own The Official Hamtaro Handbook"? It was an amazing book that I truly wish other series' would do for their work. That book is a gold mine of Hamtaro info. :)
