Still busy so more WIPS etc...
Threyon's skunkette bard Cherry.
Lengthened legs from just above the knee; for some reason a few years back there i kept doing (unconsciously) a lot drawings of characters with sort of short legs (trying to make them look short? I dunno.)
Added some shadows and colour corrections to the dress, as well as some nifty trim on bottom which probably won't show up well at this small size.
Painted in the black fur under her bodice.
Added in the stone textures, etc.
Scenario i had for this pic was that the innkeeper has told her she has to bring in a certain number of customers to get free room and board and some pay, and she's still short one or two. I doubt she'll be out there long enough to get cold.
After the first drawing of Cherry, i wanted to try a slightly different style. In some folks' drawings of her she is a bit larger size and darker than in my first sketch. In my tiny brain i see both versions as being very close in proportion, just the different poses and outfits make her seem larger size here.
I'll post hi-rez files of these two pics over at Weasyl in a few days.
Pencil on paper 8 1/2 x 11 inches

From my experience i don't think i have much talent at all. it's been 99% study and practice for all the aspects of drawing and painting and poses and ideas. i was lucky to have 25+ years of work in the animation biz during which i was paid to study and practice 8 to 14 hours per day basic drawing skills, then concepts, script editing, and story telling skills. Painting skills though - 0 %. Fortunately had some of that from art school, but studying hard to catch up.
And it's all pretty relative - there are many artists on FA who paint better than me, but basic drawing or inking or imagination....not so much. Others who kick my butt in other ways...This is true for EVERYONE. It's like we're all different flavours - chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee, green tea, salsa, curry, etc - there is no one best flavour.
There are lots of artists who would love to have your skills.
And anyone can go over to Concept Art and groan. And the folks from Concept Art can go to "Fine Art" gallery and see paintings selling for 500,000 and up and lofty ideas of cultural etcetcetc....And those artists are a drop in the bucket to Gauguin, Da Vinci, Rembrandt, etc etc etc.
i think sanity lies in finding what we enjoy doing that also has an open range to grow and mature in - where we can play and develop skills and creativity. There will always be someone with fewer or more technical skills - what matters is how we play and dance and develop our own imagination, skills, attitude, imagination, fun, stories, insights, etc
There are so many levels of skill and tricks etc, it's better to have some sense of that but concentrate on our own sense of play and creativity.

Thank you for the well composed reply! You've always gone out of your way for me and others and I so very appropriate it!
You do have talent, too, no matter how much you may underplay it and be modest! That's a good test though. There's always somebody better and more skilled out there. But there's always people who may do something better but also be very obnoxious or rude people too. It's the special combination of nice and skilled that makes a person really nice to talk to and admire! It's not easy to admire a dick, but it is to admire somebody genuinely nice! You fall into that latter category.
