well, he is a herp, so I think it does constitute as studying ;P Here's a little Dendrobatid tinctorius, commonly known as a poison dart frog. I believe this beautiful one is a hybrid in the family Dendrobatid, but don't hold me to that! done entirely on the tablet over several hours throughout the day. photo references were used but much I had to improvise!
