Dude dude dude. 1950s retrofuturism. Fuck yes.

I'm not so sure how early CAR-15s started coming into service, although I do think it was during the 1960s and the Vietnam War. And the first AR-15s as well as the AR-10s came around during the 1950s, so either way it works just fine for the 1950s setting. After all, they did make an appearance in Fallout: New Vegas.

Thanks for the feedback! I got the idea for this one after looking at Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Of course, the rotor aircraft in that game were Russian in nature, so I thought it would be fun to switch things around.

Jonny Quest had these platforms too, albeit with a different design.

This is definitely the style I'm going for with the clunky cold war style technology and I can't wait to see what else comes out of this concept.

I fucking love Cold War-styled retrofuture technology, I'm big on that stuff. You can blame Fallout for that, and possibly an early interest in WW2 and the Cold War as a kid too.

I plan on doing a print run of my Donald Trunk story arc once its complete. Imagine a battle royale between Trunk security, the Captain and some other agitators. Things are gonna get messy, fast!

More concept art is on the way! I've been looking at Jonny Quest art and old James Bond movies like Dr. No as well as films like Hollywoodland for concept/technology/setting ideas. The next piece might involve DARPA labs and their clunky technology they keep largely hidden from the Red Communists until it is needed. So many ideas.
