Gad, the memories that reprinting this story after all these years brings back. Like using a rub-down transfer to get all those little gray dots to make the shapes I wanted them to. Which they usually didn't, as my hand would often slip while rubbing and they would go awry as they have done numerous times in this story.

From the Witch's perspective? Almost certainly, in as much as I doubt she will get any benefit from them. But I also rather suspect that they will be to our weasel's benefit, and perhap very very strongly so. The last one MIGHT even be made with the full knowledge of what he is doing, in which case it might be a doozy...
