If you feel a bit of nostalgia in terms of setting, then you've probably played FFXI at some point. It was not my actual intention to use Windurst as our stage when writting this. That came from MP when he read the script and asked for references on what a chocobo stable even looked like. All I had were some old screen shots but they worked. Plus it's probably one of the more easily recognizable locations from Final Fantasy lore anyway.

Also like the fact he drew Cait looking generally grumpy, battle worn, and in Bard specific armor. A subtle reference to how I spent my last few months suffering that game before finally quitting. XD

Cheap thought bubbles... I know, the more "cloudy" ones would have taken more time and I was pushing myself with a personal deadline. The point gets across... all that matters to me.

Now, yes, I purposely made a huge reference to Windurst. One of my favorite starting cities of Final Fantasy XI. Ironically we, both Cait and I, did have the mindset to place this in Bastok, but I was trying hard to stray away from drawing that ugly, plain town.

Now the Bard AF+1 is a huge tribute and a reference to Cait's FFXI days. I have drawn Cait before, yet he was more cheerful in those pictures. Here I've seen him work hard and get so little back in return as a bard playing FFXI. Just so I won't spoil it... yes, it'll be a memorable moment for Cait.
