Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well at about 12:10 AM I called my house manager and told her the person who was supposed to be relieving me had not yet showed up. Phone conversations continued back and forth with occasional updates about an emergency fill-in coming in, when at 12:50 AM who comes waltzing in? The person who was supposed to be there almost an hour earlier.
By this point the electricity had been knocked out, and I told her that when it came back on she needed to call the house manager (who had assured me that she would fire this ne'er-do-well, who had already showed up late to relieve me once before (and she'd worked there less than a month (and never did the modest work assigned to her anyway))). She wanted to use my phone, but I told her it had no more charge...I was sleepy, and wasn't going to wait around for her to use it. Then she told me I didn't *have* to call the house manager, that she was on her way...
...Am I psychic? Am I supposed to know this without getting a phone call about it?
Anyway I started home, but holy shit, the rain! Soooo much!
You ever see during big storms, how there will sometimes be an occasional burst of heavy precipitation and you think to yourself "Man, what would a storm with a constant rainfall like *that* look like?". Well it looked like the rain this morning!
I drove 15 MPH the whole way home, nervous the limited visibility would throw some storm-strewn tree, damp deer, or sudden wash-out in front of me. Luckily none of this happened, but I had to pull over at the fire station halfway to my house in order to regroup.
They also canceled fireworks throughout the area because of the crazy weather that would be hitting us!
I got home, watched SGDQ for a bit, then sleeeepppt....
...I woke up at 3ish, because I had food in the fridge at work, I was able to get there pretty quick.
I spent the rest of the shift goobing off online and doing homework while watching speedruns!
Happy 4th of July, friends!
I hope everybody has a liberating day! <333
