But just remember the times you had with him, the good memories, all the tail wags, the kisses, just remember all the good times and know he's in a better place, no longer suffer :3

Knowing he's not in pain anymore makes me feel better. It sounds silly, but I wonder if he thought of me, Jack and his grandparents before he passed. They say dogs don't have memories and don't plan for the future, but I highly doubt that. . .

I still well up in tears sometimes driving up our gravel path and he's not racing beside my car anymore. He and our other dog would always race us out and in the drive. Now Spoog doesn't even race along side me when I commute out or in.
Thanks. I hope he didn't suffer long either. He died of old age, so hopefully it was while he was sleeping... a peaceful slumber.
And yeah, I was always under the firm inpression that animals must be kept in pairs... Even cats. It really is amazing the difference it makes.
