With my novel Auran Legend undergoing final edits before submission, I thought now would be a good time to snag some more commissions of the characters. Here's another from Gideon, featuring my Cape Hunting Dog, Kibwe Arundhati. Haven't seen him in a while!
I think this is the first I've shown Kibwe in nearly a decade; not near enough as my other Auran warriors. A former slave, Kibwe is now the chief of a sizeable pack of Cape Hunting Dogs. Strong, brave, and dedicated to the survival of his people amidst countless other tribes, he presents a fierce deterrent against those who had once threatened the “painted wolves” with genocide years ago. His body is toned and athletic, with little in the way of clothing to hide it, showing off his physique to any challenger. He carries a pair of axes whose blades are shaped from an unbreakable crystalline substance, and is adept in their use. Lastly, his demeanor fits his status. Calm and calculating within his tribe, vicious and unwavering during battle, and even quite tender and passionate with his wives during those warm savannah nights. In short, a noble leader carrying the pride of his ancestors with a hope for the future of his kind.
Gideon captured the canine's solemn determination perfectly in this piece; a veritable threat to any who may endanger his people.
