Good feedback! Spend a few hours in this texture stage. Had workflow issues due to lack of experience. Last week I made new topology for this model. Poor edge flow because I wanted to try to get threw a single workflow to understand the process. Tonight I had some trouble using my topology and how I created seams to get to the texturing/painting stage. Once there I had to google some and watch some videos to get my bearings for how to crudely texture. There are a lot of areas of improvement in this entire process. Look forward to seeing my work improve with time.
I'm only familiar with the mathematical aspect of topology (very familiar--it's actually my [desired] very particular field of study), but unfamiliar with it in a modeling sense. I know it deals with the shape and structure of the model, but I'm probably trying to project too much of its mathematical aspects onto it, ahaha. And I hope I can see you improve too. I'mma watch you--I like your modeling style :D
Also I assume you're using Blender (or maybe you're using Zbrush or whatever it's called) but in Blender, in the particles menu, there's an option to create fur. I think that'd make him look a helluva lot better :v You can even comb the hair to be in one direction or another :P
SCULPTRIS yeah that's the free version I forgot the name of. I think what you should do is take the finished model, load it into Blender just so that you can add the fur texture after you're done modeling it, and then apply the texture. It would give him a much more organic appearance instead of making him look like they shaved him down. Aside from that, the model's not half-bad at all. I wish I knew how to model. But I forgot the name of the free version of Zbrush so I'll redownload that soon and try and make something in it. What do you use for tutorials? Can you link pls? :3
Thank you for the suggestion! I will have to learn how to use that feature in blender! It sounds awesome. Unsure if I would want to show the outcome, because if it were to look way better it would make is less impressive when I try to used something like this model in Unity, because I do not know of any high quality fur effects for Unity(I have seen two I think, but they were not very good) If I do try it though I will try to show it because you suggested it! Thank you for the watch and interest in my work too! Means a lot! :D
