Is he blind? I mean, is it only something covering his eyes, or does he suffer from a disease...? Hopefully, Snake uses his tongue rather than his eyes...

Hmm. Yeah, maybe it didn't shed the eyecaps all the way or maybe it was starting to shed? Either way, it definitely knew I was there and slithered off a few moments later.
