Hey y'all! Surprised to see me postin' again, eh? XD

So, yeah. For the next anime convention I'm going to (Otakuthon 09, in Montreal) I decided to cosplay as Maka. And, like a lot of the Maka cosplayers, I decided that I'd make the prop scythe along with it, just for the hell of it. (Even though my boyfriend's probably gonna cosplay as Soul with me..XD)

So far, this is all that's finished. My mom helped me with most of it, mainly with cutting the pieces.
For the blade, we used corrugated plastic (and spray painted the black), the 'back piece' is actually 3 identical pieces glued together, the part that holds the blade is just a simple pipe with a groove cut into it, and the bottom piece is made so that it can unscrew from the rod (which we haven't worked on yet). But still, the blade piece isn't 100% complete; We still have to paint the eye on both sides of the top piece. (It's gonna be hard. XD)

Maybe I'll post a photo of the completed prop...(but maybe not me wearing the actual costume though...Ima lil' camera-shy.)

Oh, and we get a special (okay, not really) cameo from my brother, whom I've cropped out his face for anonymity. (He sais he'll be cosplaying as Stein, though. I might take photos of him if he wants. ^^)
