This is the first story I had published. It was printed in the Anthrocon conbook in 1999. The story asks the question 'Why do the good guys have to win?" Maybe the leading lady isn't as on the ball as she thought. Maybe the hero can be defeated. Maybe, just maybe the rules aren't as black and white as everyone assumes.
