Yes this car won the 1969 24 Hours of Lemans. And oh the irony I was able to see this only two weeks after the 2016 Lemans where Ford returned to the race and the new GT won in class battling none other than a Ferrari. 50 years after the first Ford win over a Ferrari.

The Myth, The Legend, THE Car. If I win an absurd amount of money via the lottery or something, that thing will be my first extravagant purchase. Presuming I can convince the current owner to even sell it.

Not irony, but awesome nonetheless. Ferrari didn't race at the 1966 Le Mans, but I'm sure even if they had they would've been no match for the 427-powered Mk IIs.
