Seems I never posted this sketch here, oops! This is the first time I drew out concepts for Lady's kids! I'd thought about what they might be like earlier, but this is the first time I put much of anything to paper. I'll post the little infodump I did on them, as well.
Of the direct descendants of Lady that stayed with her through her slumber, only two of them made it the entire 1000 years. Upon her awakening, her son and daughter would decide to stay with her, though for decidedly different reasons.
Zoe, the daughter, never enjoyed the idea of staying in a musty old cave for 1000 years. Her devotion to family trumped her desire for freedom though, and she performed her duty with no complaint. Now that that duty is over, though, she’s relishing the chance to spread her wings and be who she wants. She’s completely embraced the modern world, her constantly upbeat attitude winning her many friends.
Marcus, the brother, always held to the old dragon laws and always saw himself as a true and proper dragon. He saw his duty to protect his mother as a welcome isolation from the world outside - why would he ever want to mingle with those below him? Now that Lady’s awake and his family is once again part of the world outside, Marcus is conflicted. Does his relationship with his family take precedence over his duties as a dragon, whatever they even are? Or is he allowed to take things a bit easier and be himself? As of now, Marcus prefers to stay by himself or with his family - rarely venturing outside on his own or accepting company.
Lady enjoys having blood relatives in addition to the extended family she’s adopted (or that’s adopted her), but she does wish at times that they would turn down their enthusiasm.
