During the days of the samurai, Tomo and her people were oppressed to the point where they couldn't take it anymore. So, she gathered many other farmers from other families, and learned the ancient martial art of ninjitsu. After the Daimyo was crumbled, the ninjas were split into four family clans: the Batsu Clan of Bats, the Clucku Clan of Chickens, the Acornatsu Clan of Squirrels, and the Catsai clan of Cat. Tomo later retired to the 13 American colonies a wealthy land-owner.
