Marianna started out disguised as a male sailor in Hernan Cattez's ship when discovered Mexico, and upon arriving there, discovered a new world beyond her capabilities. So, when she learned that the only thing Cattez wanted was gold and he would do anything to get it, including killing, she persuaded Monkezuma, the Mayan emperor, to make a map in their native language to confuse Cattez and make him incredibly lost in this new world, never to be seen again. After that Marianna became the new captain of Cattez's crew, and taught them that there's more to life than valuables. The real treasure is discovered new worlds and cultures.
