I wanted to explain why I love talking about characters, but this upcoming wall of text is honestly me just fan-gushing over UberQuest. Get ready
Okay, I really enjoy all of the characters in UQ, even jerky ones like Farron who I just want to punch in the face all the time. I think they're all given well thought-out personalities and distinct designs -- and their colour schemes are often a dream to me. *n* Other than Kylar, Mason and Sesame are my favourites right now.
I have such a weakness for gentle giants (I mean, how can you not), but one thing that always turns me away is a beefcake character who has no personality to go along with it. Mason is totally not that. I love how little self confidence he has and how he tends to let his emotions control him. Also, his design has to be one of my favourites; deer/elk characters are one of my top favourites and MM, love the broken antler, the scars and his heterochromia eyes. I just want to learn more about his past and I'm eager to see how he'll grow as a character.
I fucking adore Sesame. I'm almost always drawn to female characters who are feisty, small in stature and wield great strength. I love how she is so capable, but constantly struggles and puts herself down. To me, she's very easy to identify with and I want to see her succeed. (as one should with the main character haha)
Ehem, so hear me out when I say I want these two to end up together. I love how timid they both can be, but can also unleash an incredible amount of damage when they snap. Both seem to be afraid of their own strength and I can see them finding solace in each other because of that. I really enjoy the way their friendship has been built up so far. The dynamic between them feels very natural and I like how there is actual conflict/mistrust between them, and for good reasons! Last we saw, Mason completely lost himself in anger for a moment and had to separate from the group. Right before then he essentially told Sesame off and you can clearly see how disappointed and distressed she feels over it. (Especially after he was so loving and grateful towards Kibbles for successfully healing his pet) I'm just aching for Mason and Sesame to talk it out and rekindle some balance to their friendship. I see so much potential for a romance to bloom, more so than with any other characters. I'm pretty convinced they won't be a thing because I've seen so much hype about Mason/Kibbles being together, which honestly doesn't interest me as much haha. I can see them together because both are very kindhearted and help each other out, but.. that's just it, I've only seen them get along so far and that just doesn't stand out to me as much. But getting along with each other isn't a bad thing, obviously! I just.. /SIGH/ I guess I just take so much more from Sesame/Mason and the idea of them falling in love makes my inner fangirl sing. Maybe they haven't spent as much one-on-one time with each other as Mason/Kibbles, but the time they HAVE spent together is so much more memorable to me. This is all just my interpretation as a fan, so please don't come after me lol. Well, regardless of what happens, I at least want these two to have a strong friendship and grow as individuals. ;;
Now I will also say that I'm really trying to push myself to draw more backgrounds and I really like the way this came out! I hope you guys like it! Rant over.

Well relationships being written well =/= your OTP being canon. We are going to take our time to develop the characters and their relationships (which eventually lead to romance) rather than the whole love at first sight trope. Not just romantic ones, but friendships and adversary types too.

I didn't say that. :/ But it's like what Rishi pointed out, Kibbles x Mason just isn't as interesting and IMO would be a bit too obvious. And I honestly have a sneaking suspicion that a good number of fans of the pairing don't really have much of a reason to hype them getting together outside of thinking they look good together on an aesthetic level and the flawed logic of "they helped each other out, they should be together".
Please don't take this the wrong way though, I still love your work and I have plenty of confidence in the writing and such. :c
