Never thought of it before now... but with that cloud hanging right over Grumpy's head, he reminds me of this old school cartoon character than you and I grew up watching, Pandr... he was called "Shleprock" from the old Flintstones Comedy show.
He'd always go "Wowzy, wowzy, woo-woo... hi everyone... miserable day, isn't it?" (Said by him in the most depressed voice you ever heard).
And, since I myself have not exactly been the king of optimism for some years, I sometimes have called myself "Shleprock" in joke. I'd track this down via You Tube (Which I'm sure there's bound to be some show clips on to illustrate my point about him) but me = lazy tailed baby wabbit.
