<Oh, it's just a quick investigation and clean-up for some easy credits, what could possibly go wrong? I really need to learn to keep my beak shut!> Velvet Soul thought angrily as she peered over the crates. Down the long cavern was several large creatures blocking her way. Normally they wouldn't have been a concern for her, but at the moment her powersuit was offline.

Velvet Soul (also nicknamed "V" by many) had volunteered for this scavenge mission when the Federation offered a good sum for anyone to try and find survivors in the debris that used to be SR388. V wasn't the best pilot, so she had crashed into this meteor by accident. Turns out there was a significant part of the BSL still intact on this piece of the planet, so while her ship repaired itself, she investigated the station.

But mere minutes later, it was revealed that the X were still alive on this meteor, and her first encounter ended with the X globule latching onto her armor and merging itself with her. Unfortunately for the X, V was one-third metroid in addition to her urtraghian and dominant chozo genes, so the life-form wound up being consumed by V's natural energy-absorption.

However, V had her own share of misfortune, as the slight hiccups in splicing her three gene-pools together had caused unique physical characteristics to manifest in her body.

Gazing down at her increased gut's paunch, V once more cursed the X that attacked her, and subsequently was absorbed into her, consequently causing her body to take in the energy and distribute it on her body as fat. Unfortunately, her increased fatness switched her powersuit off, so now she was left with an ill-fitting zero-suit that barely contained her mass.

Taking a deep breath, V stood up and took off running down the hall, praying she would still remain mobile at the end of this...
