Part 10 (finale!): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2582746/
Part 1 here if you want to start from the beginning: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2006430
This is a live performance recording of the piece I put on for my senior recital, it's for 15 instruments and narrator. The narrator tells a story about a journey for magic, which is very much influenced by video games. The whole thing is 40 minutes long, I'm posting it here in pieces. The balance sounded great in the hall but the recording makes the levels a bit funny, especially with the narrator since he moves around during the story, so I'm posting the text of each section. The musicians were great to work with, they learned a lot of music in a very short period of time, it gets a little shaky in some spots but you can hear they get right back together again, only very good musicians can play something this exposed/difficult under the conditions they did, they're awesome! :D I hope you enjoy it, and please any feedback is greatly appreciated!

"You look weary, but better than most who return. I assume you have your adversary's light with you?"
"Yes, good, now release the light, our walls are held by magic and will absorb it. May such light serve more noble purpose in our control."
"What's that? Yes it was a fire demon, why would you ask such a thing?"
"What? Who gave you a revelation spell, I should have seen it unless it came from magic older than that which built this very city!"
(Growing irritated) "Such audacity! You say it was another mage?"
"Well you sense more than is good for you. Yes, it was another mage, disguised by magic that affected you as well. He was sent on the same task thinking it was you who was the fire demon, but when you met you were the stronger. What better for a final test young one, now that you
have taken a life you are ready for your future..."
"Do not question me, it cannot be undone! The light is too far gone now. Come now, this is how you need to prove yourself, how else can you be a sorcerer?"
(Frustrated, insulted) "Don't interrupt me! Or don't you know? We use sorcerers for combat, for fighting against those from other lands who desire our knowledge and power! This is a life of privilege, of nobility! Perhaps one weak or afraid might refuse, but you..."
"You should not have known this, this is why we give sorcerers their training before we tell them everything, once they experience so much control they know it is foolish not to use it. I will give you one last chance to accept."
(Disappointed, exasperated) "You do not listen very well. So be it, if this is your wish, may the fates have more mercy with you than I. I'm sending you back to the caves- the only way out will be death, unless of course you ever do change your mind. Farewell."
